Welcome back. Did I ever mention how much we need you? Positions for the new year are (roughly) as follows:
Policy Rep
This role requires a willingness to learn a lot about Darfur and the UN, AU and Canadian responses to the crisis, and then to convey that info at chapter meetings and other events.
Divestment Rep
Involves researching and advocating possible economic tools to pressure the GoS on the Darfur crisis. This year, we want to get some more transparency from both UBC and the Province of BC on what their investments are and whether or not they deserve are scrutiny (our most recent info strongly suggests that the Province does).
Media Rep
We are looking for people to take charge of STAND UBC's promotion on campus, from poster design and distribution to finding new ways to make our message heard.
Event Reps
If you have a knack for event organization, your help in planning our year will be greatly appreciated!!
Webmaster
Use your skills to improve our home on the www.
Members-at-Large
For those who are willing to take on a variety of tasks, or are just able to help out sporadically—this is the category for you.
