DARFUR RALLY this Sunday the 27th!

Hey guys! The rally that STAND UBC has been planning all year is taking place TOMORROW at 1pm outside of the Vancouver Art Gallery!!

Genocide Awareness Film Festival at UVic!

On Tuesday, April 1st, and Wednesday, April 2nd, STAND UVic will be facilitating a Film Festival focusing on past genocides, and the mass-murder campaign that is currently taking place in Darfur. The three countries focused on will be Germany, Rwanda, and Darfur.

After the movies, Dr. Zimmerman and Dr.M. Engineer of the University of Victoria will host a discussion about genocides, their root causes, similarities, and the lessons that they have taught us with students and anyone else who wishes to participate.

The movies to be played are:

1. Survivors of the Holocaust (Tuesday, 7:30pm), Room ECS 123
2. Shake Hands with the Devil (Wednesday at 7:00pm), Room ECS 125
3. The Devil Came on Horseback (Wednesday, ending at around 10:30pm), Room ECS 125

STAND Table at the SUB

Hey guys!

Next Monday, Thursday, and Friday STAND is once again going to be at the SUB. We will have postcards to send, directed to Joyce Murray, calling on politicians to 'Do more for Darfur'. It would be great if you could come out and sign one!

We'll be there from 8am to 5pm, and as always we'd love some company, so stop by if you have a chance in your busy schedules. :)

Darfur Now showing at SFU Harbor Centre!

Amnesty International Canada is showing Darfur Now at SFU Harbor Centre, Room 1700, on February 29th. It will be playing from 6 to 9pm, and the suggested entry donation is $5.

This is a great movie showing what's being done to help solve the crisis in Darfur; I really recommend seeing it if you haven't yet.

There will also be panel discussions after the showing of Darfur Now, and prizes, but it is first come first served seating, so get there on time! ~_^

Club Days Monday and Tuesday

STAND:UBC is at the SUB this Monday and Tuesday (Feb 4&5)!
